Latest Updates from Our Project:

The Campaign Has Ended... But This is Just the Beginning!
6 months ago – Fri, Oct 03, 2025 at 08:36:22 AM

A hearty THANK YOU from the Next Level Miniatures team to all of our wonderful backers who helped make Dragon's Cache Vol. 2 a reality! We truly can't thank you enough for your support of our project.

At the end of a campaign we're always humbled by your faith in us and proud to have the best fans in minis!

Next on the agenda is setting up the pledge manager. We'll be going with Backerkit again, which we've used for many of our projects previously. So if you've been with us for a little bit you'll already be familiar with how completing your pledge works. However, if you're not, we'll be doing a full rundown of everything pledge manager related in an update closer to when it opens up.

When does the pledge manager open you ask? It'll open in roughly 3 weeks. We've got to wait for Kickstarter to collect all of the campaign funds and verify payments have been successfully charged. Once they complete that, they will disperse the funds to us and supply us with the final backer/pledge info for us to port into the pledge manager. When the time comes we'll let everyone know to expect a backer survey to arrive in their email inbox which will allow you to apply your Kickstarter funds towards completing your pledge and also providing your shipping info and covering the shipping costs to your location.

Any new minis from the campaign (new meaning anything that was newly introduced for this campaign, that includes some models found in add-on packs) will be available in the pledge manager if you wanted to grab a few extra copies of anything.

Please be aware that Backerkit allows us to open up a "Pre-Order Store" ahead of the full pledge manager opening for Kickstarter backers. This in essence looks the same as the pledge manager to backers, except it is intended for those who missed out on the Kickstarter campaign and want to late pledge. So if you are an original Kickstarter campaign backer reading this, all you need to do is sit tight for a few weeks until Kickstarter finalizes collecting your pledge funds and gets your info over to us and we can send you your survey to complete.

For those who pledged for digital rewards, those will be handled via My Mini Factory. We'll have information on how/when those will be dispersed soon, but for now just know it'll happen roughly around the same time as the pledge manager opening in 3ish weeks.

And that's all we've got for now. If you have any questions or concerns please let us know down in the comments, or reach out to us directly at [email protected]. We'll be back with another update soon and we like to have a fairly regular update cadence of about every 2-3 weeks, so look forward to those as we work our way through making these awesome minis for you all.

Thanks again!

About 12 Hours Left to Go!
6 months ago – Thu, Oct 02, 2025 at 06:36:13 PM

Hello everyone, and good evening or good morning wherever you are!

We've got roughly 12 hours left in the campaign and we're getting oh so close to unlocking the big bad Archfiend of Orcus!

We ask that you please share the campaign with anyone you know who may be interested, or share a link anywhere you hangout online to discuss minis. Getting the word out helps everyone secure that awesome unlock!

Thanks again for your support to help make Dragon's Cache Vol. 2 a reality!

We'll be back with another update after the campaign ends tomorrow to go over what happens next and when you can expect the pledge manager to officially open.

Nothic variants Unlocked!
6 months ago – Tue, Sep 23, 2025 at 06:08:26 AM

Happy Tuesday to everyone! And what a glorious day it is, for today your combined might has slain the next stretch goal!

As powerful as they are insane, these one-eyed aberrations delight in the misery they inflict. Nothics are attracted to places of magic and arcane knowledge, often skulking around in proximity. Oddly they have an affinity and understanding of magical items, perhaps it stems from their origins from a curse of Vecna. And most interestingly for resourceful adventurers, Nothic eyes are prized for their uses in elixirs and other potions!

This sweet pair of Nothic variants is now part of all pledges that contain the Dragon's Cache Vol. 2 and the STL is part of the associated digital packs.

We now look forward to the imposing Archfiend of Orcus as the next stretch goal that awaits! Let's keep up the momentum and forge onward! But, what other horrors may lurk beyond...

See you all in the next update, thanks again for all your support!

A new villain has emerged!
7 months ago – Wed, Sep 17, 2025 at 06:23:46 PM

Hello once again adventurers! A new evil has emerged from its foul abode and taken its place among the Dragon's Cache Vol. 2 stretch goals...

As we steadily make our way on the quest to unlock the next stretch goal (Nothic variants!) we wanted to unveil the next stretch goal to obtain - the dreaded Archfiend of Orcus. A truly terrible sight indeed!

Let us know how you'd use this woebringer in your campaigns in the comments. We love to hear all the creative ways our backers and fans can concoct to terrorize heroes.

Also, please keep sharing word of the campaign to help boost us over the upcoming unlock goals!

We'll be back again soon with another update and more fun stuff to share. Take care everyone and we'll see you in the comments!

Stretch Goal #2 UNLOCKED!!! Plus painting with Nick!
7 months ago – Mon, Sep 15, 2025 at 03:18:32 PM

Happy Monday adventurer! On this illustrious day, the defeat of the second Dragon's Cache Vol. 2 stretch goal has been achieved - let's see what loot you've secured...

Congratulations!!! You've unlocked a handsome pair of feral piles of bulbous flesh with nothing but hunger and hate to give them purpose.

All jokes aside, two Mane variants are now included with every pledge and the STL file included with all digital pledges. Well done!

And to finish this update, we've got Nick, co-owner and production manager here at Next Level Miniatures to give a rundown of his process for painting the Manes.

Take it away Nick...

Hi all! Nick with NLM here. I'm going to be sharing my methods on how to paint the newly unlocked Manes for some quick and nasty table ready demons. I'm using all Vallejo Model Color paints here, so you can use the same color names shown below to copy the method.

To start out I've primed the model Grey (remember though, our minis don't even need primer if you'd rather skip it!)

I start by base coating the model in a solid coat of Oxford Blue. I follow up with an all over dry-brush layer of Blue Violet. I then dry-brush on Rose Brown, starting to focus on the areas not in shadow. For a final dry-brush I use Beige Red focusing on the upper areas of the model where light hits. Then I'll go through with my trusty #1 brush and just hit the highlights. The top of the head, shoulders, arms the the high flat areas of it's belly.

Next up I'm going to start picking out some details. There's some gross stuff oozing out of this guy so using Light Sea Green as a base and Green Grey to highlight, it looks like something nasty is hanging out of him.

For the sores, I filled the area with Red, and highlighted the ridges inside and outside of sores with Light Flesh.

Finally going back to the Oxford Blue I filled the hollows of the mouth and eye sockets to make sure those stand out against the flesh tones. I then used some Yellow to pick out the eyes.

Lastly some quick dry-brushing with Bastion Grey, Bluegrey, and Sky Grey gives us a quick stone look.

And there you have it! A quick, table ready demon, eager to rend any hapless heroes that cross their path with claws slashing!
